Listen up! - Are you a great listener or would like to become one?
We are looking for community minded people who love hearing great stories to become "Launnie Listeners" at The Launnie Listening Table. This is more than just hearing words! To truly listen, you must have a curious mind.
Is that you? Whatever age you are you can be a great Launnie Listener.
Listeners have empathy while asking open-ended questions that spark deeper sharing. Resulting in amazing stories being heard.
Flexibility is also important, as each interaction is unique. Being a Listener is a rewarding role that transforms lives through the simple, yet powerful, act of listening and helps build connections within the community!

Have a look at the website and you will get a feel for what we do. The Launnie Listening Table will be in Brisbane Courtyard (Mike’s Country Kitchen, Croplines) and is a locally designed and made table open for everybody to come and sit. Launnie Listeners will sit at the table 10am - 4pm, 6 days a week. A Listener will be asked to sit either from 10am-1pm or 1pm - 4pm , a minimum of twice a month - 6 hours a month. Pretty good if you like hearing a diverse range of stories; of course you can offer to listen more.
Once you agree to be a Listener we will train you up in Mental Health First Aid (a two day course) and Listening Skills. We use guidelines at the Listening Tables that help to keep the sharing on track. We will ask you to lightly facilitate the table. We want to hear stories…not opinions of why the world is flat!! ;) We will be with you to help.
